Music
Neta Weiner’s music grows from an inquiry into the musicality of language and the dialogue and friction between Hebrew, Arabic, Yiddish, and English. He works across modes of expression, combining multilingual rap with accordion performance and composition. His catalog spans the Jewish-Palestinian collective System Ali, solo albums and soundtracks, and special projects including the theme and score for the TV series Madrasa, ISMA with vocalist Samira Saraya and producer Hoyah, and Oys to Men, a klezmer hip hop ensemble. He connects distant worlds by pairing klezmer with hip hop and spoken word with cabaret, through collaborations with artists and activists such as Tamer Nafar and drummer-choreographer Suli Imoro. At its core, the work links the profoundly personal with the political, turning intimate experience into music that speaks clearly and carries.
